2020 EurAI Dissertation Award

The 2020 Artificial Intelligence Dissertation Award sponsored by EurAI, the European Association for Artificial Intelligence, has been awarded to:

Mikel Artetxe

University of the Basque Country

 
for his thesis:

Unsupervised Machine Translation

 
under the supervision of Gorka Labaka and Eneko Agirre.

This Award includes a certificate signed by the EurAI Chair and 1.500 Euros (which include the travel grant for the Award ceremony).

The Selection Committee has decided to award, in addition, honourable mentions to both Mostafa Dehghani (University of Amsterdam) for his thesis on "Learning with imperfect information for language understanding" and Alberto Marchesi (Politecnico di Milano) for his thesis on "Leadership games: multiple followers, multiple leaders, and perfection".

The EurAI Dissertation Award Presentation will take place on 12th October 2021 at the ACAI 2021 summer school.
