2013 AI Dissertation Award

The 2013 Artificial Intelligence Dissertation Award sponsored by ECCAI, the European Coordinating Committee for Artificial Intelligence has been awarded to:

Guy Van den Broeck

for his thesis:

Lifted Inference and Learning in Statistical Relational Models

 
This Award includes a certificate signed by the ECCAI Chair and 1.500 Euros (which include the travel grant for the Award ceremony).

The Selection Committee has decided to award, in addition, an honourable mention to Anastasia Paparrizou, University of Western Macedonia, for her thesis: "Efficient Algorithms for Strong Local Consistencies and Adaptive Techniques in CSPs", and to Ringo Baumann, University of Leipzig, for his thesis "Metalogical Contributions to the Nonmonotonic Theory of Abstract Argumentation".

The ECCAI Dissertation Award Ceremony took place during ECAI-2014 in Prague, Czech Republic.
